Now that Facebook has turned all of the pages over to the new timeline format the White House did something pretty cool, they went back and started the time line on April 30th, 1789 when George Washington became our country’s first president.

It looks like this is a work in progress, though the White House has added a bunch of snippets of US history including pictures and stories of our various presidents and different key moments in the nations history.

This is a great use of Facebook and with over 1.3 million likes, you can see that it’s been a success for the White House.  It’s going to be interesting to watch other organizations utilize the timeline feature to showcase their history and strengthen their connection with their customers.

It may also be beneficial for customers when researching various brands because Facebook will allow an easy way to track a company’s past and see where they have come from.  There’s a lot of potential with the new timeline format and it’s going to be interesting to see how companies and organizations utilize it and what new apps developers come up with to better showcase it!
