I’ve been searching for a free program to create interesting (HTML) newsletter emails and I think I may have found a winner – MailChimp
They now have an offer where you have up to 2,000 contacts and send out up to 12,000 emails per month before they start charging you!! After doing a bunch of research on some of the other major players in this market (iContact, Benchmark Email, Constant Contact, VistaPrint, etc), MailChimp has certainly come out on top!! And plus, after reading a handful of articles on the company, they seem to have a great culture that has a good time making MailChimp even better for its users!!
The set up is fairly easy and I was able to upload a contact list that I had in a csv file to get started. MailChimp gives you a lot of options and templates to choose from which at first may seem a bit daunting, though within a few minutes you can navigate your way through them and before you know it, you’ll have a campaign set up and ready to go!!
Besides for more contacts and emails per month, the paid versions do offer a few more options when it comes to checking your email campaign to get the best reach, though for now I’m happy to risk it and just send out the campaign to my mailing list.
So far I’ve received some great feedback and I’m loving the analytical tools, which are included in the free version. They allow me to see a wide array of information from those who have opened the email to emails that have been blocked for one reason or another.
As I use MailChimp more, I’ll continue to keep you updated!!!
